My first time working in an office. Okanjo.com was a startup ecommerce marketplace.
During my time there the first thing I'd do is create a front page banner for the next day, come up with a headline, and search for products to feature in the collection related to the banner I've created. I'd try to get all that done in the first hour of work. see banners
Long term projects included creating email templates, aiding the lead designer in writing the brand manual and defining the visual style of the website. I also participated in whatever daily operations and objectives I could participate in so I could learn as much as I could about working in an office environment.
For the past couple summers and everywhere in-between I've been working for the Drive By Press. They're master printmakers with a shop in Brooklyn, New York. They've devised a way to mobilize woodblock printmaking to make it accessible to print at academic locations all across America.
My role with the Drive By Press was not only to live print shirts for customers but to also take care of the transactions and keep track of inventory. As an event marketing representative I've live printed from places around campus to Lollapalooza in Chicago. Beyond live printing I was also a print assistant during workshops and I designed and printed shirts for local businesses.
When I was 16 I came up with my first graphic. It was my face, it seemed like a good place to start off making graphics. I spray painted it on shirts and gave them out to friends when I was running for student council in high school. I won and attribute it to my "Vote for Dominic" shirts and logo.
Since 2011 I've been designing stickers using my logo and putting the designs on all sorts of different graphic applications. Below is all 20 different designs, all abiding to the same size and color restraints.
In preparation for making this website I wanted to practice my motion graphics. I came up with a system for putting my logo on old clip art, animating the characters, and I made 25 in the week over Christmas and new years.
