The first time I saw a record player that wasn't my parents' was at a ski house my family rented one winter when I was in jr. high school. That place was cool; it was large enough to fit a few families and there was a pool table in the basement. There was a record player with a dusty needle and 3 records but the only LP I cared about was the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. John Travolta on the cover with the Bee Gees, everyone looking fly. I found "A Fifth of Beethoven" to be hilarious! Walter Murphy updated Beethoven to be so funky! Highly enjoyable.
The record I own was my mom's. You can find it at most thrift stores - it's the seventh best selling album of all time.
