Classical music is underrated. One of the most recognizable classical pieces in contemporary culture, we generally link "The Blue Danube" to the movie "2001: A Space Odyssey." It impacted me by showing me how classical is structured. Someone once described this particular waltz with a metaphor to architecture: when you walk up to the building there's a steady strut and then other focal points grab your attention to guide you eyes (or ears) all around the piece. It's all about composition and theatrics.
The soundtrack album I own I found at a thrift store. It's excellent to play when the TV or video game I'm playing is on mute. The songs are organized by how they appear in the movie and some songs are on both sides of the LP to show how the story arcs.
