BREATHE

Pink Floyd

This was the first concept album I listened to. After I learned how to use my parents' record player my dad suggested this album to me. The build up of "Speak to Me/Breathe" set the tone for an album that sucked me in. The CDs I would play as a kid were very defined with what each song was, but this album didn't do that. Each song flows into each other so each side of the album feels like one song, or ideas neatly organized into progressive essays. It impacted me to listen to more rock that had an overarching unity.

The copy I have was my dad's. The cover sat on my desk for me to look at after the needle on my parents' record player finally wore out.
